Poetry Month Gone Dark: Claire Marie Petty's Wakening

Claire Marie Petty's Wakening

Dreaming, wandering, walking when awake.
The darkness calls, the winds awake.
Mother earth opens her heart,
Mother earth feeds in the dark.

Nothing to hold, nothing to bare,
when wakening thoughts appear.
The darkness is not nice,
the darkness doesn't feed the light.

Wakening thoughts are not alike
as Mother earth feeds the night.
You do not hear as the winds of the night,
creep up without sight.

Wakening thoughts, wakening fears
keep all in the dark as the winds fall near.
You want to run, you want to hide
as your wakening fears soak up the night.

Recently married, Claire is both a paranormal investigator and a radio show host.
