Poetry Month Gone Dark! Rich Orth's Muffled Whispers!

Rich Orth's Muffled Whispers!

Intimacy stolen
Deprived of simple childhood
Down this dark path
I walked alone...
Ignored by nothing more than a birth mother
Screams to her
Barely muffled whispers
Inaudible to all but me
What wrought this evil
Whatever did I do
To succumb to this treatment
Memories that never erase
All hands resemble his
Causing me to cower
From even the loving touch
Of a partner, who tries, but......
Surely never will understand
Visions I see as I rest my eyes
For sleep is when he returns
Suffocating feeling of a lover's embrace
I look into their eyes
Though there it is,,,his face
 Contemplate the why's
Everyday of my life
Ponder a world of lies
As the truth has long since
Been buried; hurried into that quiet place
Where the silence is deafening
And only I can retrieve....
Though this belief merely deceives myself
For I live it truly with every breath
And I will die with it every day
From now until Death
Or at least till I escape this maze

See clearly through my nightmarish haze
